Blue Mountain Nature School will provide a safe & nurturing environment where children can learn, explore and develop together through hands-on high quality outdoor education and play.​

Who are we and where do we meet?

Blue Mountain Nature School is an outdoor nature-immersion school offering preschool for children 3-5 years old and school enrichment for ages 6-10.  We use nature-based curriculum in an emergent way with high quality literature to spark investigations into the natural world. We will investigate nature through, art, science, math, literacy and play. Each day we offer unstructured play as an important time for children to socialize, express ideas, problem solve, explore and connect to nature.

Blue Mountain Nature School is a...

• recorded preschool program with the state of Oregon
• member of the Outdoor Early Learning Alliance of Oregon
• school with staff certified in Association of Nature-Based Education Level II
• and staff certified in Cedarsong Way nature immersion pedagogy

We meet at Heritage Pond Education Center, at 913 S. Miller Dr. in La Grande, where we have a heated yurt, covered pavilion, storage shed, bathroom, tables, and adequate space for drop-off and pick-up.
